Sanur is a coastal beach east of Denpasar in southeastern Bali (approximately 30 minutes drive from Ngurah Rai International Airport), which has become a small town in itself.
Traditional fishing boats are visible on Sanur Beach and offer scenic views of Nusa Penida Island.
In 1906, the northern part of Sanur was used as a landing site for the Dutch invasion units during the Bali intervention. During World War II, Sanur was once again a place where enemy Japanese forces reached the island of Bali.
